I loved the hallway for its width and height of ceilings. However, something felt dark and eerie about the space and we knew that it needed light. The electric heater by the end of the stairs was already posing a hazard especially with kids. Also carpet for us was a big no-no.
Solving the lack of light problem for us was a priority when transforming this space. Breaking down the wall to the kitchen to create a semi open plan look and converting the 2 single doors leading to the two front rooms into double doors would help to create a sense of space and light.
Look out for future posts on how we went about transforming this space.
