Food Diary week one

Diet here consist of the most freshest fruits and vegetables!! Move over Whole Foods Supermarket, Papaya tastes creamy and it is big sans fertiliser, avocados…soft and large, bananas…tiny, japanese fruit…..a cross between kiwi and guavas, passion fruit, pineapples, the list goes on. Then you have spinach, rice, spaghetti, every variation of beans, peas, runner beans, SWEET POTATO, potatoes, plantain….we really aren’t lacking in food!! Only thing is, I think I have become a sans-meat eater here, especially as you see the cow charging down field which could become your dinner, or a goat herding along, or the chicken right next to where I am staying.

So here are eye watering selection from my first week to keep you connected to Burundi….(apart from the live chicken and cow!)
