Kirundi Classes

Apart from Amahoro (meaning peace), I am pretty much trying to remember all the Kirundi I have learnt for four days or so!

Well, lets share some words I have learnt:

Kaze! means Welcome!
Meze neza means Feeling good!
nisawa means fine!

Mi sangapi? What is the time?
Mininota: minute

Vyari vyiza – it was lovely
Vari raroyshe – it was beautiful.
I am tired: mdarushe
She is sleeping: arayamye
We go: tugende
Hurry up: myarustsa
School: ishure
Play: gukina (duskine lets play)
To pray: gusenga

TO BE
i am: ndi
Youare: uri
S/he is: ari
We are: turi
You are : muri (plural)
They are: bari

TO HAVE
I have: ndafisay
You have: urafisay
He has: arafisay
We have: turafisay
You are: murifisay
They are: barifisay

Ufise imiyaka ingahe? How old are you?
